Last of the Mexican

Played by Dave Lewicki at our jam.

This is off the CD "Throw the Cow Over the Fence" from the band Red Mountain (formerly Red Mountain White Trash).
. . . The entire CD is excellent, and here's what they say about this tune:

"5. Last of the Mexican/Laughing Marj: "Last of the Mexican" comes from Jim Mullany and Rob Pine of the Nattering Nabobs from the Albuquerque area. They’ve not recorded it yet and we appreciate their generosity in letting us have a go at it first. Jim’s stories about the tunes are almost as fun as the tunes themselves. He writes that "Last of the Mexican" was made in concert (as it were) with my Nattering Nabob buddy Rob Pine (the A-part) and myself (the B-part), during a Nattering Nabob get together one night, perhaps ten years ago. If an origin is wondered at for the "Mexican", one could say that "the tune name "Last of the Mexican" stemmed from an encounter Rob and I had in a seedy, backwater border town many years ago ". But that's only if an origin is wanted or wondered at.”
