The Carter Brothers were the originators of that tune as far as recording it on the Mississippi Rounder album, 78's from the 20s/30s...where it came from I know not, but it is crookedy crooked...three crooked parts. And then some.


There is a Volo Bogtrotter utoob video where they play their version of Jenny On the Railroad, a two part squared off version...maybe we should rename that version Andy On th Railroad.
